Security Awareness Whilst on Social Media
- Always be mindful about who can see your profile and how much information they can see about you
- Always limit the amount of information you share online.
- Always stop and think carefully about what you are about to post and ask yourself: “Would I share this with a complete stranger”?
- Never post photos that can identify you and put you at risk of criminals like: Vacation information, home address, valuable goods, date of birth, bank details
- Never reveal personal information to strangers or people you hardly know
- Never agree to meet someone in person that you only met without knowing something about that person
- Beware of Phishing scams
